Very good first edition, with lean to spine, foxing to top of page block, and some light push-in to top of spine. In a very good unclipped dust jacket with wear to corners, light chipping to spine, and several small tears along edges.
About the book
David Carr, who has discovered oil for British interests on the island of St. Cree's faces the threats of Telemann, an agitator, a killer, and an anachronism, and when called back to London is assailed by three men who lack ""the Telemann touch"" and beat him brutally. While the civil servants discreetly deliberate, Carr returns to the island and escapes his enemy. So that when Telemann fails, he is ready to give up his assumed identity- and his life.
