FAQs

Why are you changing the name from GSFF to Fellowship?

GSFF has always stood for Goldsboro Books Sci-Fi & Fantasy Fellowship.
Over time, it became clear that what members value most is not just the genre, but the community and the shared experience of discovering books together.

We are changing the name to Fellowship because it reflects what this subscription has always been:
a fellowship of readers brought together by a love of imaginative fiction.

This is not a change of direction.
It is simply a clearer, more human name for what already exists.

Why are you removing “Sci-Fi” from the name? Does this mean you are dropping science fiction?

Science fiction is not being dropped.

The reason we are no longer using “Sci-Fi” in the name is because:
• the abbreviation GSFF confused new customers
• the full name was long and hard to say
• the community aspect was hidden behind genre labels

The subscription will continue to include:
• fantasy
• speculative fiction
• and science fiction, where it fits our curation

The focus remains on extraordinary imaginative fiction, chosen for quality, storytelling, and collectability.

What is the Fellowship subscription?

Fellowship is:
Goldsboro’s fantasy and speculative fiction subscription, built as a community of readers rather than just a genre product.

It is a fellowship in the truest sense:
people connected by stories.

What kind of books are included?

You will receive:
• carefully chosen new releases
• across fantasy and related speculative genres
• selected by the Goldsboro team

Titles are curated by the Goldsboro Books team and often include exclusive or hard-to-find signed editions.

When will I be charged and how often will I receive books?

Fellowship is charged on the 3rd of each month.

You will receive one book per month, once the copies have been signed and prepared. Dispatch times can vary depending on signing schedules.

Can I skip a month or pause my subscription?

There is a minimum six-month commitment when you first join. After that period, the subscription continues on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.

Members can skip up to 2 months in any 6-month period. Skips must be requested in advance by contacting the Goldsboro Books team.

What if I need to cancel my subscription?

You can request cancellation at any time by contacting our support team. Please note that our book subscription is a six-month commitment, and cancelling early may affect your eligibility for future sign-ups. If you’ve already been billed for the month, you’ll still receive that month’s book. For early cancellations, please reach out to our team directly so we can review your request.

When will my book be dispatched?

Books are dispatched once the author has signed the stock and it is ready to ship. This means delivery may occur later than the publication date, especially for international orders.

Are Fellowship memberships limited?

Yes. Fellowship memberships are limited in number. If the subscription is full, customers may need to join a waitlist or wait for places to become available.

Are there any additional perks?

Fellowship members receive:

  • 15% discount on other purchases from Goldsboro Books
  • A £10 Goldsboro voucher for every six consecutive months of active membership
  • Access to Fellowship-exclusive news, announcements, and content

Is the Fellowship fantasy fiction book club right for me?

Fellowship is ideal for readers who enjoy collecting signed, limited editions and are happy with a curated monthly selection.

Amazing service even from a distance of half way across the country. They pack books to survive a nuclear blast and so I am never worried about anything arriving damaged!

Best bookstore I have ever encountered. Books sent are packaged as if they are rare china. I have ordered about 50 books from them and even though they are sent oversees, none have ever been damaged. Customer service is amazing, and prices are extraordinarily fair. I'd give ten stars if I was able."
