But the Veil is not without its dangers, and the fae who inhabit it are far more unpredictable than Kit could have imagined.
Meanwhile, back in Victorian London, Kit finds himself drawn into an entirely different kind of world. A young bohemian woman from an aristocratic family challenges everything he has been taught about magic, society and his own future. As the boundaries between duty, desire and the supernatural begin to blur, Kit is forced to confront just how much he is willing to risk to change the fate that has been written for him.
What makes A World Apart such an exciting Fellowship choice is its wonderfully evocative setting. Meghan Nesmith brings together the elegance and social expectations of nineteenth-century London with a mysterious magical realm existing just beyond it, creating a story that feels both historically grounded and wonderfully strange. Meghan Nesmith is making her fiction debut with a novel that already demonstrates a remarkable confidence in its worldbuilding, prose and characters.
