GSFF: March 2026 Reveal

GSFF: March 2026 Reveal

Some stories don’t whisper...they summon.

They call us into worlds shaped by blood and belief, by gods who watch closely and mortals who dare to defy fate.

For GSFF, our March 2026 selection is The Book of Fallen Leaves by A. S. Tamaki: a sweeping, immersive epic of ambition, vengeance, and sacrifice; where history, myth, and power collide.

An exiled prince.
A peasant girl marked by the gods.
An empire on the brink of ruin.

Sen Hoshiakari was born to rule, until his father’s failed rebellion stripped his clan of everything. Now an exile, Sen lives only for restoration: of his family’s honour, their stolen lands, and his own shattered future. The price, he knows, will be steep.

Rui once saved Sen’s life on the night his world burned. But she is no hero, not yet. Adrift and uncertain, she cannot know that ancient forces are watching her steps, or that her fate is entwined with gods, ghosts, and the destiny of an empire.

As civil war fractures the realm and demons rise to reclaim old debts, Sen and Rui are drawn into a brutal struggle that will test loyalty, love, and the limits of vengeance.

Because some wars are fought with armies.
Others are fought within.

Written with lyrical force and historical richness, The Book of Fallen Leaves reads like real history, vast yet intimate, brutal yet deeply human. It is a novel of family feuds and political savagery, of ambition sharpened into a blade, and of characters striving to do what is right in a world that rarely rewards it.

This is epic fantasy that honours tradition while forging something fiercely its own. A debut that announces a major new voice in the genre.

Why this book? Why now?

Because GSFF exists for stories that expand the boundaries of imagination and The Book of Fallen Leaves does exactly that.

It reflects everything our Fellowship stands for:
✨ rich, immersive worldbuilding rooted in history and myth
✨ complex characters caught between loyalty, betrayal, and fate
✨ an epic narrative that builds patiently toward a devastating, unforgettable conclusion

This is the kind of book that reminds us why we fell in love with fantasy in the first place.
