When we first launched Fellowship, it was a way to celebrate the imaginative fiction we love. But over time, something quieter and more powerful has emerged. It has developed into a community of readers who trust us, converse with one another, collect, and share a belief in the magic of bold, otherworldly storytelling.
It has become a community.
Because of that, we are letting go of the “GSFF” name and simply becoming
The word has always been there, but now it comes to the front. This is not about changing direction. You will still receive the same carefully chosen editions, created in deliberately limited numbers for Fellowship members, designed to be kept, collected, and cherished rather than widely printed and quickly forgotten. Your subscription itself does not change.
What is changing is how we describe who you are.
Fellowship reflects what this has become: readers bound together by a shared love of extraordinary worlds, ambitious ideas, and beautiful books. It speaks to belonging rather than branding, to a journey rather than a product.
Fellowship is Goldsboro’s fantasy & speculative fiction subscription, built as a community of readers connected by stories.
Welcome to Fellowship.
FAQs
Why are you changing the name from GSFF to Fellowship?
GSFF has always stood for Goldsboro Books Sci-Fi & Fantasy Fellowship.
Over time, it became clear that what members value most is not just the genre, but the community and the shared experience of discovering books together.
We are changing the name to Fellowship because it reflects what this subscription has always been: a fellowship of readers brought together by a love of imaginative fiction.
This is not a change of direction.
It is simply a clearer, more human name for what already exists.
Is this just a rebrand?
We are not changing what the subscription is.
The books, the curation, and the way the subscription works all stay the same.
We are simply bringing the word Fellowship to the front, instead of hiding it inside an abbreviation.
In other words: nothing is being replaced — it is being properly named.
Why are you removing “Sci-Fi” from the name? Does this mean you are dropping science fiction?
Science fiction is not being dropped.
The reason we are no longer using “Sci-Fi” in the name is because:
• the abbreviation GSFF confused new customers
• the full name was long and hard to say
• the community aspect was hidden behind genre labels
The subscription will continue to include:
• fantasy
• speculative fiction
• and science fiction, where it fits our curation
The focus remains on extraordinary imaginative fiction, chosen for quality, storytelling, and collectability.
Will the books change?
The type of books we publish in the subscription will stay the same.
You will still receive:
• carefully chosen new releases
• across fantasy and related speculative genres
• selected by the Goldsboro team
Only the name is changing.
Do I need to do anything as an existing GSFF member?
Your subscription will continue as normal.
You will simply see the name change from GSFF to Fellowship on:
• emails
• the website
• and future materials
Everything else remains the same.
What is Fellowship now, in simple terms?
Fellowship is:
Goldsboro’s fantasy and speculative fiction subscription, built as a community of readers rather than just a genre product.
It is a fellowship in the truest sense:
people connected by stories.
Why is this happening now?
Because the community has grown strong enough to deserve its own name.
“GSFF” described a category.
“Fellowship” describes who the readers are.
