  • Book Condition & Notes

A good first edition - the page block has slightly yellowed, and there is a slight lean to the book. In a good dust jacket, with wear to all edges and a small scuff to the spine.

About the book

A terrifying, heart-racing up-all-night thriller perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn and Tess Gerritsen

You know that feeling? The one that makes you want to glance over your shoulder?

All Clara Benning wants is a peaceful life as a wildlife vet, and to hide her disfigurement from the world.

But now she doesnt have a choice.

Because a man has died from a suspicious snake bite, and Claras concern leads her to the abandoned house at the end of the lane, and an unspeakable tragedy that occured half a century ago.

About the Author

S. J. Bolton

Sharon (formerly SJ) Bolton grew up in a cotton-mill town in Lancashire and had an eclectic early career which she is now rather embarrassed about. She gave it all up to become a mother and a writer.

Her first novel, Sacrifice, was voted Best New Read by Amazon.uk, whilst her second, Awakening, won the 2010 Mary Higgins Clark award. In 2014, Lost, (UK title, Like This, For Ever) was named RT Magazine’s Best Contemporary Thriller in the US, and in France, Now You See Me won the Plume de Bronze. That same year, Sharon was awarded the CWA Dagger in the Library, for her entire body of work.
