Book Condition & Notes
Book includes a letter written by Annabel Farjeon to Klauss Flugge, author and founder of The Anderson Press, after he won the Eleanor Farjeon prize in 1999. The letter accompanied this first edition copy of Maria Lupin, which Annabel gave to Klauss. Eleanor Farjeon was Annabel Farjeon's aunt.
Near-fine first edition, with two small spots of damage to cloth in the front spine crease. In a very good dust jacker with light chipping to top corners, a tear to the top of the spine and a small chip to bottom of spine.
About the book
Maria did not know why her father had gone away three years earlier, or where he was. Her mother wouldn't explain properly, and Maria soon learned not to ask questions. But school was just so many boring hours, her mother came home from work tired and ill-tempered, there was so little money...oh, everything was horrid without Daddy. Then Maria's strange encounter with Samson, and her meeting with Ivan Abraham changed everything...
