About the book

Bill Blaney is an ex-spy who worked in Berlin 17 years ago. One day reading the paper, he reads of the apparent suicide of one of his co-workers from his spy days in Berlin. One of his old boss contacts him to tell him that it wasn't suicide....it was murder! In addition to this, there are also two other co-workers murdered and one attempted murder. Blaney could be next.
He is sent by his old boss back to Germany and Italy to talk with the other members of the old spy ring to try to ascertain why people are being murdered and who is doing it and why it is only happening 17 years after their assignments.
Back in Berlin 17 years ago, an informer in the German political arena, wanted to leave East Berlin to go to the West and "go straight". However he got caught at the border and killed. Now all those who worked for this operation are a target.
The main suspects are Kreutzer, a blackmailer who wanted 500,000 to help get the politician out of the East,
Joe Bonucci, the "casual muscle" of the operation, who now seems to have a lot of money running his own circus,
Ferdy Tuke, who has just been sacked from British Intelligence and has a severly autistic daughter,
Franklyn, a boss who had a lot of money to do up his estate, and a millionaire who put a bomb under Kreutzer's car.
All had money or motive for the crime.
