  • Book Condition & Notes

A good first edition in the publisher's red cloth. Several pages have creases on the top corners where they have been folded, and the previous owner's name and a dedication are written within the front cover. In a good dust jacket, with wear at the corners and small tearing at the top of the spine.

About the book

In form an 'occasional piece', this address which Mr. Eliot delivered at Harvard in November 1950, is a document of such immediate and wide interest that his publishers have persuaded him to consent to its separate publication.
