About the book

Every good hero needs a villain! Explore the hidden world of magnetic and mysterious villains, often cast aside and misunderstood in tales of mythology and folklore. Through the pages of Queer Villains of Myth and Legend, discover a diverse community of fascinating characters, ranging from seductive and cunning to powerful and awe-inspiring.

Experience the dark allure of Circe and Medusa through to David Bowie's Jareth in
Labyrinth and delve into their complex and multifaceted personalities and motivations. Take a deep dive into the intersection of queerness and villainy, re-examine some of our favourite characters, and discover why so many 'bad' characters are queer-coded.

From ancient mythology to contemporary pop culture, Queer Villains of Myth and Legend celebrates the fascinating stories of these often-overlooked characters. Join Dan Jones on a journey of discovery, as he explores the hidden depths of queer villainy and sheds light on the queer identities of these compelling figures. It's a powerful celebration of queerness through the ages in all its legendary complexity.

About the Author

Daniel Jones

Dan Jones (Born 1978, Chichester, West Sussex, England) is an autistic YouTuber and content creator who has over 25 years training and experience in hypnosis, meditation, therapeutic storytelling and the healing arts. He has also worked for over 15 years with children, teens and parents. He started in children's homes in 2000, then helped to set up a therapeutic children's home, before moving into working with parents of children who were either young offenders, or committing anti-social behaviour and at risk of entering the youth justice system if they didn't turn their behaviour around. Dan then managed a team of Family Intervention Project staff, as well as continuing family work himself, and worked as part of the Troubled Families programme.

Daniel teaches hypnosis and therapy and a number of distance learning courses, and holds talks/lectures, and workshops on various topics from parenting, to self publishing, to hypnosis/therapy, social media and content creation, and living with autism. He also regularly contributes and write articles for newspapers, magazines and blogs about autism and has featured on TV and Radio programmes talking about autism, hypnosis and psychology, and on various podcasts.

Dan's main focus is on helping to promote autism understanding. He feels that there is now a lot of autism awareness, yet still very little actual understanding. He created the Neurodiversity Magazine to help raise autism understanding, as well as writing his best-selling autism autobiography Look Into My Eyes (reached number 1 in Autism books and number 30 in all biographies on Amazon) and his 'An Autistic Perspective' series of books.

Dan has sold over 150,000 books, his most successful YouTube channel has had over 15 million views. His audio tracks have been listened to over 5 million times, over 1.5 million TikTok views, and he has over 100,000 students taking his eCourses.

Other books by Dan Jones include: the 'Hypnotherapy Revealed' series of books, 'Dreamweaver's Guide', which is a book about how to craft sleep stories and calming narratives, 'Sleepy Tales for Children', which is a book of 33 healing bedtime stories for children, 'Unlocking the Superpower Within', which is about FourGame Dynamics coaching and personal development, 'Dragon's Fire: An Illustrated Novel', which is a fantasy novel based on Dan's most popular sleep stories series.
