This edition has a lean and some foxing and discolouration to the page block. There is an inscription on the front end paper. The jacket has a hole in the spine and the edges are very worn. There is a tear in the dust jacket at the top of the spine that wraps round slightly onto the back of the dust jacket.

About the book

A trip to Brazil in the summer holidays was an unexpected treat for Harry Wharton & Co. of the Greyfriars Remove, as well as for Billy Bunter. Lord Mauleverer, paying a visit to his cousin Brian, manager of a plantation, took the opportunity of inviting the Famous Five, while Bunter wangled an invitation. It was strange that when they reached Brazil, Brian Mauleverer had disappeared, leaving only a brief message. However, the boys enjoyed themselves in spite of several encounters with the dangerous bandit O Corvo; the whereabouts of the missing manager were discovered by astute detective work on the part of Hurree Jamset Ram Singh; and Billy Bunter decided that he would prefer to stay indefinitely than return to the doubtful pleasures of Greyfriars School. Fortunately for the followers of the mortal fat schoolboy, his decision was not final, though the tour to Brazil remains a thrilling interlude in his exploits.
