About the book
Walter Satterthwait has created an eager audience for famous-figure mysteries. Cavalcade is set in 1923, early in the political career of the twentieth-century demon Adolf Hitler. Pinkerton detectives Turner and Beaumont are sent to Munich, ostensibly to find the would-be assassin who just missed killing Hitler when "Der Feuhrer" came there for a rally. But that turns out to be the tip of the iceberg; hidden in deeper waters is a tangled web of motivations from some shockingly unexpected sources.
